[Craft beer, friends,] and football! That’s what [California] does!

It was a beer and football kind of weekend in Northern California. On Saturday we went to the Cal game and watched them obliterate Sacramento State. It was so much fun to walk through fraternity tailgates and spend a bit of time outside with friends. Watching “my” football teams is one of my favorite ways to feel connected to a city.

On Sunday we slept in and decided on a whim to google “Steelers Bar” and see what we could find. We found Giordano’s, the most Pittsburgh-feeling place outside of the ‘Burgh itself. Sandwiches with coleslaw and fries? Check! Black and gold as far as the eye could see? Check! The Pittsburgh Polka at the end of a winning game? Check! Check! Check! It was so awesome to have a home away from home.

How we documented the Steelers Bar to share with Pittsburgh friends who have moved and were watching all over the country.

If this is what our Fall weekends are going to look like in Northern California, I’ll take it!
