Hiking Mt. Sanitas
Alright, so I live in Colorado and it’s December. I should be skiing. Instead, it was nearly 70 degrees so we decided to bail on being ski bums and take a hike with the boys.
I started with an hour and a half of yoga with one of my favorite instructors. My “downward dog” historically looks more like “broken shanty” but after working out for a few months at Pura Vida, I am stronger than I have ever been. There’s still room to go, but today I was able to do Bird of Paradise posture for the first time (it may have looked more Drunken Flamingo) and took a stab at Scissors pose (regrettably it may have looked like a warning: Ran With Scissors).

Bird of Paradise. No, I don’t look anything like this, but I sure wish I did.

Scissors Pose
We made it to Mount Sanitas and started hiking up the stair master that is the dozens of stairs that start the hike. It was rocky and although the trail was rated as dog-friendly, it was pretty technical for our older lab and we were pretty worried about one of our boys twisting and ankle or taking a tumble; thankfully they were fine. We enjoyed some beautiful views and a perfect day before heading to the West End Tavern for some beer and food.
