2 Weddings and 2 14ers
1 month: 1 doctorate, 2 weddings, 2 fourteeners and a grant. I’m tired.
Wedding #1 was our dear friend Missy who got married on her family island in the Thousand Islands in Canada. The Boy officiated the wedding and it was so special to be part of their celebration. We spent a great night in Montreal on the way home, going for a waterfront run and eating at one of the best restaurants in town.
I have a grant due September 3rd so I’ve been pretty slammed but I was able to sneak away on Friday to climb Grays and Torreys Peaks, two 14,000 mountains in Colorado. They were my fourth and fifth 14ers and as always, the views were icing on the cake of spending a beautiful day using my body outdoors. There was the regrettable reminder of how dangerous the mountains can be as I was a first responder to a man who had a nasty fall, needed stitches and likely had a concussion. Thankfully I had the training and a well-stocked emergency kit to tend to him, but I’ll do a quick PSA to remind everyone to be prepared when heading into the mountains.
Then yesterday one of my dearest friends got married! It was great to celebrate more love and see some of my favorite people and oldest friendships. One of my favorite moments was when I asked The Boy to get me a cupcake and he overachieved a bit, instead bringing the entire cupcake display 🙂
