Mohawk Lake in Breckenridge, Colorado
Today I set off with Wally to hike 7 miles round trip to Upper and Lower Mohawk Lake near Breckenridge, Colorado. The morning started beautifully, I just love how the sun catches the mist and gives such depth to nature.

There is something that I love about how the sun catches the mist enveloping the little tree in the center.
We caught a few reminders of how dangerous nature could be, but thankfully had a very uneventful trip.
Wally was a super mountain dog and did a great job of keeping pace and being a cute little trail ambassador.

Wally the mountain dog. I’m not kidding when I say that three people thought he was a bear. These three people were clearly not from around bear country.
And of course, like most adventures in Colorado, the views couldn’t be beat.
There were supposed to be two Mohawk Lakes, but I could only find one, even with quite a bit of exploration. Wally and I are a pretty good pair at finding trails and this was definitely a trip where you want to bring a map or a guide. If you’re near Breck and want to explore, this is a great day hike with beautiful views.
