adventure |adˈven ch ər; əd-| (noun)
an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity; daring and exciting activity calling for enterprise and enthusiasm

I love adventure. Sometimes I seek it out, but most times it finds me. It can be big, like going to Antarctica, or small, like getting a puppy that weighs 85 pounds. My life is always an adventure & it makes for great stories, pictures, friends and laughs.

Tonight I started to pack for Colorado. 15 boxes down and many more to go. I started by tackling the books in our living room. Yes, that means we have 15 boxes worth of boxes in our living room. That doesn’t include the books in our offices. See, we love books. Adore them.We are both … Read more

My Bikram Yoga Testimonial

Almost one year ago I went to my first bikram yoga class. I remember being terrified the entire day leading up to the afternoon class and that by the time I was leaving the studio I realized I had found something special. As an athlete I’ve liked the idea of yoga- something that promotes strength, … Read more

The Freedom to go to Africa

This summer I have 10 weeks of vacation. TEN WEEKS. No job, no boss, no schedule. The responsible part of me will spend some of this time writing manuscripts and my dissertation, but that still leaves me with some time to burn. While walking around Denver after getting some coffee last week, The Boy turned … Read more

Tuscany 2012

I just spent the most wonderful week in the little Tuscan hilltop town of Cortona. Last year the Boy and his Big Brother were at a charity auction where they did what brothers do- drink lots and goad each other. Luckily for me, this resulted in them winning two auction items: a week in a … Read more

New Toy: Jeep Grand Cherokee

I like the outdoors and I like shiny toys and so in anticipation of moving to Colorado, I bought myself a shiny new toy to play in the outdoors: A 4×4 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland (insert happy noise here: eep!). If you don’t think this is a sexy vehicle, you have poor taste and should … Read more
