Fly Fishing in the Paradise Valley
The first time I went to Montana to meet The Boy’s family, he thought that he needed to work to make me love Montana so he took me on a guided fly fishing trip on the Yellowstone. It was cold, but beautiful and I even caught a few fish. I liked that fly fishing required some skill and attention but not enough to distract me from all of the beauty around me. It is the perfect way to spend a day and so I was excited to float the Yellowstone again.
We also went fishing in the Gallatin about two miles from my future brother-in-law’s house. It was a really beautiful night and the hours passed quickly as we waded, enjoyed the sun setting behind the mountains, caught some fish and spent good time with great people. This trip was a few days after the engagement and one of the nicest parts of the trip was when The Boy’s Brother took some time to help me improve my cast. It was a really warm moment where he felt like a big brother and I really felt like part of the family.

The trailhead, beautiful scenery for wading, and a fly. I am always amazed at how detailed the flies are!

It is really spectacularly beautiful in Montana. You can see why A River Runs Through It was filmed here. Every time I go outside in Montana it makes me feel so lucky.
Oh yeah, and I even caught some fish 😉
Nice looking pictures! Fishing is so much more than catching!
