Briones Regional Park

I went on my first California hike today. I went to Briones Regional Park at the recommendation of a friend who said that the Eastern hills are lush, beautiful, and green this time of year. I spent two hours wandering the park and while it was lush, beautiful, and green (they looked almost like something out of Dr. Seuss they were so green and rolling), the wide open trails left me wanting something that felt less exposed. Probably a great hike for families or large groups but for little old me I wanted more variation and to feel like I was a bit more remote. Do you think Colorado spoiled me?
